In March 2015 I received a phone call. My home country, Yemen, was at war and my family was there.
As a graduate student at the University of Oxford, I was eager to complete my education and compete for the highest-paying jobs. But, with the news that an airstrike had hit my home, everything changed.
I saw firsthand the impact of conflict: violence, despair, and humanitarian crises. I also saw the root causes of conflict: poverty, lack of opportunity, and inefficiency.
I spent the next eight years peace-building and facilitating dialogue in the Middle East. Through that work, I came to understand clearly that peace can more easily be achieved through economic prosperity. That realization led to the founding of Mashora.
At Mashora, peace through prosperity is our focus.
My team and I are committed to impactful initiatives. We know that economic development is a powerful gateway for peace and stability. In a nutshell, business success means success for all; a peaceful and sustainable future.
Today, we are proud to share that Mashora is becoming a strong strategic partner to a variety of public policy-makers and businesses in the EMEA region. We hope you’ll join us.
